The First Xbox Game Pass Games of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Is Still Fighting.
Everywhere you go, fans keep sounding the death bells for Microsoft's gaming division. Xbox was recently outsold by a lesser-known competitor. Dedicated Xbox communities began covering on PS5 topics for the first time. 2025 was a period of total upheaval for Xbox and Microsoft. But if we're going solely off the upcoming Game Pass lineup in 2026, it is apparent that the green gaming company still intends to engage players with quality releases on its key platform.
The Immediate Additions
The two games you can play right now as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's deserving of attention.
Major Titles on the Horizon
Starting January 13th, the subscription service will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, a sprawling adventure that refreshes conventional open-world tropes with an intergalactic heist adventure. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, hailed in past assessments as "the perfect cocktail of frights and fights."
Noteworthy Smaller Games
Yet, the less-hyped additions coming to Game Pass soon are noteworthy here. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, an unjustly ignored roguelite offering thrilling gameplay, arrives January 7th — and it merits a playthrough regardless of whether you played the first Lost in Random game.
The game set in a ruined Britain from last year might get its hooks in you within just a quarter of an hour.
Atomfall, the stealth survival game by Rebellion Developments, also warrants your attention. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to anticipate.
A Well-Rounded Collection
Ultimately, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, and they don't represent massive exclusive blockbusters that are the sole reason for the service in the first place. However, this batch of games are exceptionally strong. There's a good mixture of older titles you may have skipped and new-ish games that didn't get the attention they deserved the first time around — which makes them ideal prospects to find a new audience on Game Pass.
Be prepared to bid farewell to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
